January 28 to 30, 2011 Weekend News Recap: Charlie Sheen’s Rehab Admission and the Prestigious Screen Actors Guild Awards

There are two major events that happened over the weekend in the entertainment. The first one is Charlie Sheen’s admission to a rehabilitation center and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.


Two and a Half Men Minus One





The Two and a Half Men star just announced that he’s going to enter a rehabilitation voluntarily in order to take care or properly manage his drinking.

If you'll remember, Sheen was arrested before because of assaulting his wife and blamed to drinking. Today, he’ll be dealing with it with the help of the rehabilitation facility.

As for the production of Two and a Half Men, it will be currently on hold while the he will be spending his time on rehab.




“And the award goes to…”





The Screen Actors Guild Awards set again with several awards for actors and actresses who made outstanding performances for television and motion picture. Just like in other awards night, the red carpet is once again flooded by stars clad in their designer suits and gowns.


For television, Alec Baldwin once again earned the award for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Comedy Series for 30 Rock. Former ER star Julianna Margulies won the Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Drama Series award for The Good Wife. Modern Family takes a modern blow after it wins the Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Comedy Series after Glee won it before.


For the motion pictures category, Christian Bale won the Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor in a Supporting Role for The Fighter. Colin Firth received the Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor in a Leading Role for The King’s Speech. The King’s Speech is also the recipient of the Outstanding Performance By Cast in a Motion Picture.
